Rule(s) that apply:
8.1. After completing a reasonable follow-through, a player must make every effort to clear, so that when the ball rebounds from the front wall the opponent has:

My Thinking
Player in Blue has played a poor loose looping half hit drive affording his opponent a simple volley from the T which his opponent steps forward to play but is blocked from doing so.
Player in Blue cannot clear the TOTAL path necessary for his opponent to be able to play the volley. Imagine that it had been a right hander. The volley would have been totally impossible. Not quite so impossible for the left hander but still very problematic and so interfering with his freedom to swing.
Note: At the time of writing – (14 July 2024) – there is a directive from Lee Drew (Head of Refereeing at PSA) that "would-be" hungry attacking strikers should wait for the non-striker to clear before going on to play the ball. This is TOTAL nonsense and strikers should certainly not have to wait to go forward to play the ball. The rule is that non-strikers should make “EVERY effort to clear” and failure to do so is a stroke 90% of the time just for failing to do that and “EVERY effort” applies to direction and SPEED.
My Call (applying Rules 8.1 and 8,1,3 above) – Stroke for Swing Interference following a failure to clear (due to ball coming back towards non-striker).
Words you can say to the players:
Stroke for Swing Interference
Other Possible Calls
None
Match Referee Decision
No Let – room to play
